Words fail and are not enough. The death of an extraordinary person leaves an incredible void. It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Marianne Hayek, the wife of Group founder Nicolas G. Hayek, passed away peacefully in her sleep last week, surrounded by her family. The farewell ceremony took place in the closest family circle.

All of us in the group are carriers of this flame that she has lit in our hearts. Marianne Hayek brightened the day with her radiant smile, her warm and discreet presence, her beautiful soul, her generosity, her gentleness, her sharp and benevolent mind and her fine sense of humour. There is sorrow that is hard to overcome.

But when the pain subsides, the memory of them will remain alive in us, and that should comfort us. The best way to honour them is to continue to live happily, if possible with a smile on our lips and joy in our hearts.
